  • Mait's Rest Rainforest Walk

    Take the self-guided rainforest boardwalk at Maits Rest in the Otways and see beautiful fern gardens and giant rainforest trees up to 300 years old.

  • Mariners Lookout

    Address:
    155 Marriners Lookout Rd, Apollo Bay VIC, Australia .

    An easy 10 minute walk from the carpark is rewarded with spectacular ocean, beach, hinterland and town view. If you’re feeling more energetic, walk about 1.5 kilometres north from Apollo Bay along the beach or Great Ocean Road, then climb a steep hill along a surfaced road for another 1.5 kilometres to the lookout track (take heed of passing traffic). 

    Marriners Lookout is a popular take-off point for hang gliders. With the right conditions you may see someone take off. 

  • Carisbrook Waterfall

    Parked at waterfall car park and walked back to road bridge over creek. Beautiful scene of creek winding through scrub towards hills. Till reading prior reviews I was unaware of rock stacking tradition at beach estuary. Will return again with kids who’d love that afternoon project.

  • Twelve Apostles

    The Twelve Apostles can be seen as seven limestone rock stacks. Six of them are visible in the classic view enjoyed by millions of people every the year, while the seventh is located several metres away from the corner of the main viewing platform.

    The Twelve Apostles is a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. There is a more direct route along the Princes Highway via Colac that takes three hours. The Twelve Apostles is a 10-minute drive from Port Campbell, where there are accommodation options and places to eat.

  • Otway Fly Treetop

    The 600 metre-long, 25 - 30 metre-high elevated walkway provides unrivalled views of the unique beauty of the region’s flora and fauna, from the rainforest floor up into the soaring heights of the treetops.

  • Apollo Bay Beach

    A 3km long eastern facing beach, Apollo Bay provides safe, patrolled (during peak periods) waters for walking, swimming, surfing, fishing, boating, sand castle building and beach cricket. Starting at the South end of the beach, Point Bunbury and the harbour wall create a protected bay best suited for families and leisurely bathers. 

  • Hopetoun Falls

    Hopetoun Falls is roughly a 1-hour’ drive away from Apollo Bay, or 2.5 hours from Melbourne. From Apollo Bay Town Centre head east on the B100. In 7 km turn left into C119 and stay on it for the next 14.5km. Then turn left into C159, sealed winding road, and follow it for the next 16km. Turn left into Binns Rd, which is an unsealed road, and follow it for the next 4.8km. Turn right into Hopetoun Falls Road and in 400m reach a car park.

  • Apollo Bay Golf Club

    The nine hole course comprises four par three and five par four holes. As there are two tees on some holes and two greens on another, an interesting eighteen holes can be played. Try not to become too absorbed in your game and enjoy the fabulous scenery all around the course.

  • Cape Otway Lightstation

    Cape Otway Lighthouse is a lighthouse on Cape Otway in southern Victoria, Australia. It is Victoria's oldest working lighthouse. During winter to spring, the lighthouse is a vantage point for land-based whale watching as migrating whales swim very close to shores.

  • Apollo Bay Museum

  • Apollo Bay Farmers Market

    If you happen to be visiting Apollo Bay on the third Sunday of the month then make your way to the Scout Hut. The Apollo Bay Farmers hosts local business vendors hawking out handmade goods and local produce. It is a small market but sometimes you’ll they’ll have live music and always a good vibe.

  • Apollo Bay Distillery

    The gins at Apollo Bay Distillery are linked with the old folklores, its location is one of the oldest buildings in town and the SS Casino anchor on-site makes the distillery a true miniature of Apollo Bay’s culture, heritage and nature.

  • Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary

    Located at Aireys Inlet, this park protects 17ha of ocean waters and projects about 300 metres offshore. Composed of both hard basalt and rubbly limestone, the cliffs are full of caves and ledges. The shore is covered with boulders and offshore there are two large rocks: Eagle Rock and Table Rock. Table Rock has been levelled by incessant waves whereas Eagle Rock is a tall volcanic stack capped by limestone.

  • Live Wire Park
